The composition of the project team is chosen in such a way that the necessary broad spectrum of expertise is on board.
  • TNO and RIVM are partners with recent experience in the EASA Characterisation of the toxicity of aviation turbine engine oils after pyrolysis (AVOIL).
  • VITO and Fraunhofer IBP have a strong background in indoor air quality assessments, in built as well as in vehicular environments.

  • To maintain a link to industrial possibilities and to be able to get hands-on knowhow on aircraft Environmental Control System (ECS), turbine technology and a test aircraft Honeywell Aerospace and Airbus Operations were taken on board.

  • The sub-contractors (ADSE Consulting & Engineering and Grab it) will each bring their own expertise and facilities to the project. The Institute for Risk Assessment Sciences (IRAS) of Utrecht University will carry out toxicological tests with bioassays.

  • Collaboration will take place with various airlines; the collected data will feed into this project.
